About Us

Unlike many municipal fire departments, the Blount County Fire Protection District (BCFPD) is a non-profit public Utility District. We do not receive funding from traditional property taxes. Instead, our life-saving operations are powered directly by the annual memberships of the residents and businesses we serve.

Why Membership Matters
When you become a member of the BCFPD, you aren’t just paying for a service—you are investing in the safety of your neighborhood. Your membership dues stay right here in Blount County to fund:
  • Professional Staffing: Ensuring trained responders are ready 24/7.
  • Modern Equipment: Maintaining our fleet of engines, tankers, and specialized rescue gear.
  • Training & Education: Keeping our team at the forefront of modern firefighting and medical response.
  • Station Maintenance: Operating the facilities that house our crews and equipment across the county.
The Power of Your Support
Because we are a non-profit utility, every dollar from your membership goes directly back into protecting our community. By choosing to be a member, you ensure that high-quality fire protection and emergency services remain available to everyone in Blount County, regardless of tax fluctuations.

It is the policy of the District to provide equal employment opportunities and to provide its programs, activities, and services to all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or status in any other group protected by law.  Inquiries and charges of violation of this policy should be directed to the
Fire Chief at (865) 983-2133 or at 808 W Lamar Alexander PKWY, Maryville TN 37801.

Requests for accommodation of a disability should be directed to the
Fire Chief at (865) 983-2133 or at 808 W Lamar Alexander PKWY, Maryville TN 37801.
